Tool & Die Maker

Hughes Brothers is seeking a full-time Tool & Die Maker for 1st shift. Builds, repairs, cleans and sharpens all types, sizes and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, dies and precision machine parts.  Reads and interprets blueprints and completes precision work.  Ability to write/edit computer programs for the CNC Mill, Lathe, EDM, and other CNC machinery.  Assembles and tests complex tools and dies on manufacturing equipment.

This is a bargaining-unit, hourly position. Starting rate of pay is $32.83 per hour, with top of scale being $36.55 per hour after training period. Benefit package includes holiday, vacation, personal leave, 401(k), health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and more.

Associate’s degree in Precision Machining & Automation Technology or equivalent required. Work performed in factory environment, requires prolonged standing, frequent lifting, reaching, twisting and bending. Requires ability for heavy lifting.

2nd Shift Production

Hughes Brothers, in Seward, NE, is accepting applications for FUTURE 2nd shift helper positions. The position works 3:30 pm to Midnight, Monday through Friday. This is a bargaining-unit, hourly position. Starting rate of pay is $26.69 per hour, with top being $27.49 after training period. Work performed in factory environment, requires prolonged standing, frequent heavy lifting, reaching, twisting, and bending.

Civil/Structural Engineer

Hughes Brothers, in Seward, NE, is adding a full-time Engineer. Designs steel and wood structures and components for the electric utility industry. Prepares cost analysis, quotations and bids on material manufactured by Hughes Brothers. Assists in structure and component full-scale testing. Travels to trade shows and assists with sales and technical support to utility customers.

This position will have a competitive salary based on education and experience, plus vacation, personal leave, 401(k), health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering required, with emphasis on steel design and EIT status. Two to five years related experience and/or training preferred; Knowledge of basic construction terminology or utility industry experience highly preferred. Ability to attain P.E. Certification for professional advancement. General knowledge of professional engineering practices. Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.
